We all got together one time this semester and we made blankets for children in the hospital. We used large pieces of fabric and frayed the ends of them and then tied them together. It was a great to know that we were helping out children in the hospital. I have a personal tie to this issue because I volunteer at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I love volunteering in the hospital. I remember when I would sort through donations given to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and give the gifts to the parents of the babies to give to their kids. I will never forget how grateful the parents were that strangers cared about their child. I thought about how happy the parents and the children would be as I was making the blankets.
